🍵trying MATCHA KAKI!

i first heard of them through tiktok and happened to be at Tampines (where they were doing a pasar malam pop-up) so i decided to try it out!

honestly, if i could, i would have tried everything on their menu because it all sounds interesting🤤

bought their recommended — sea salt cream matcha(^ν^) one of the girls mentioned that it was similar to a macchiato style, since the cream was on top. the matcha itself was alright, and i only got to taste the cream more towards the end of the drink. would’ve been better if the matcha drink itself already has some sea salt element to it as well😋

i saw on tiktok they had a hojicha menu too but i didn’t see it at the stall on that day (or perhaps i was to excited to try their matcha so selective blindness..)

would definitely give their other specialty matcha & hojicha a try if im around the area! esp since im more of a hojicha person🍂

... Read moreIf you're a fan of matcha drinks like me, finding Matcha Kaki at the Tampines Pasar Malam was a pleasant surprise. Their menu includes several creative options beyond the sea salt cream matcha, such as the strawberry matcha, banana pudding matcha, and even a milo matcha variation. These unique blends offer a fresh twist on traditional matcha flavors that are both fun and satisfying. One thing I appreciated was the consistency of the sea salt cream—smooth and not overly salty—which pairs well with the mellow earthiness of the matcha. However, I personally felt that incorporating some sea salt flavor directly into the matcha base might create a more balanced and engaging taste throughout the drink rather than just enjoying it towards the end. For hojicha enthusiasts, their menu lovingly nods to this roasted green tea flavor, although I missed seeing it on the stall during my visit. It's definitely on my list for a subsequent visit, especially since hojicha's nutty, toasty notes contrast nicely with matcha’s vegetal brightness, providing a great variety for tea lovers. As a local pop-up experience near Tampines MRT, this is a convenient stop to enjoy refreshing and inventive matcha beverages after exploring the vibrant pasar malam atmosphere. Remember, their pop-up runs until 13th September, so don’t miss the chance to sip on these specialty drinks amidst the bustling night market vibes. Additionally, if you're curious about customizing your matcha, Matcha Kaki offers add-ons like oat milk and pudding that can elevate the texture and flavor of your drink. Whether you’re a matcha traditionalist or open to playful new combos, Matcha Kaki has options that might pleasantly surprise your palate. Overall, sharing this experience feels like joining a community of matcha lovers discovering local gems, so next time you’re in Tampines, be sure to swing by and enjoy the creative flavors Matcha Kaki has on offer!
