Me in life vs me during a work event
I’ll blame the INFJ Capricorn in me that makes me a little boring, keep to myself and mind my business. But that same nature allows me to be really outgoing when it comes to networking and branding. I am truly excited to be at industry events because it’s like a designer convention, we can be full nerds in our niches and celebrate each other with love. I’m never surprised at my switching but I am loving how different it looks when I’m out #WorkLife
It's fascinating how many of us INFJ Capricorns feel this unique pull – one moment, we're deep in thought, craving quiet solitude, and the next, we're in 'work event' mode, navigating social situations with a surprising ease. I often find myself reflecting on this duality: the introspective, empathetic INFJ, paired with the ambitious, disciplined Capricorn. In my day-to-day 'MY LIFE,' I truly cherish my quiet time. I can seem reserved, sometimes even a bit elusive, preferring deep conversations with a select few rather than large crowds. It’s where my intuition and desire for authenticity truly thrive, and honestly, it’s how I recharge my social battery. I find deep satisfaction in my own company, delving into personal projects, or simply observing the world from a comfortable distance. But then comes a 'WORK EVENT,' and it's like a switch flips. Suddenly, the Capricorn drive for achievement, strategy, and professionalism takes the helm. I can be incredibly focused on networking, branding, and making meaningful connections. It might look effortless from the outside, but it's often a conscious effort to channel that Capricorn energy, knowing the value it brings. The INFJ side still plays a crucial role here, though – my intuition helps me understand people quickly, reading between the lines to build genuine rapport and assess situations effectively, even in a bustling environment. It’s not about being fake; it’s about adapting my authentic self to the demands of the professional world, recognizing that these events are opportunities to grow and connect within my niche, especially in the interior design world. These industry gatherings, truly like designer conventions, feel like a space where we can be unapologetically 'full nerds in our niches,' celebrating each other's passion and work. For fellow INFJ Capricorns, you might recognize this feeling: the internal struggle between wanting to retreat and wanting to conquer. Learning to embrace both sides has been a journey. I've found that preparing mentally for 'WORK EVENT' scenarios, knowing they serve a purpose for my long-term goals and professional growth, helps immensely. I often set small, achievable goals for each event, which the Capricorn in me loves. And, crucially, always allowing ample time for recovery and solitude in 'MY LIFE' afterward is non-negotiable. It’s how I prevent burnout and maintain my energy. It’s about leveraging our unique strengths – the deep understanding of people from the INFJ, combined with the strategic foresight, resilience, and ambition of the Capricorn – to succeed in our careers while staying true to our inner selves. This powerful combination, once you learn how to balance it, makes us surprisingly effective in settings that might initially seem overwhelming, allowing us to shine both personally and professionally.
