Spend the morning with me as a Sahm of 1

... Read moreIt’s amazing how quickly mornings fly by when you're a SAHM, isn't it? I truly cherish those productive and fun moments with my little one, but let's be real, it can sometimes feel like a whirlwind! I've learned a few tricks to make our mornings smoother and more enjoyable, and I wanted to share some of my go-to "sahm activities" that keep us both happy and engaged throughout the day. One of the biggest game-changers for us has been integrating independent play into our routine. It’s not just about giving myself a few minutes to breathe; it’s incredibly beneficial for my toddler's development! I usually set up a safe, engaging space with a few rotating toys – maybe some blocks, a simple puzzle, or even just some sensory items like scarves. It’s fascinating to watch them explore on their own. This quiet time often gives me a chance to quickly tackle a few small tasks, like making my bed or wiping down the bathroom sink. It’s amazing how much tidier the house feels with just a couple of minutes of focused effort. After some independent exploration, we often move into our 1 on 1 play & learning time. This is where we really connect. We might read a few books together, sing songs, or work on a simple craft. Sometimes it’s as simple as pointing out colors and shapes in their favorite picture book. I also try to involve my little one in simple household tasks. Even "making Aj's bed and sweeping the room" can become a fun game with a toddler-sized broom! It teaches them responsibility and helps them feel like a valuable part of the family. But what about beyond the morning? The "sahm activities" don’t stop there! Outdoor Adventures: A quick trip to the park, a walk around the neighborhood, or even just playing in the backyard can work wonders. Fresh air and a change of scenery are great for everyone. We love collecting leaves or spotting birds. Creative Explorations: Simple crafts using household items, coloring, or finger painting can spark so much joy. Don't worry about the mess; focus on the process! Kitchen Helpers: Involving them in simple cooking or baking tasks, like stirring ingredients or washing fruits, can be a fantastic learning experience and a fun activity. Quiet Time Fun: For those moments when you both need to wind down, a quiet ‘reading nook’ with cushions and blankets, or listening to calm music, can be perfect. My biggest tip for fellow SAHMs is to be flexible. Not every day will go according to plan, and that’s perfectly fine! Embrace the beautiful chaos, find joy in the small moments, and remember that you’re doing an amazing job. These activities aren't just about filling time; they're about building connections, fostering learning, and creating lasting memories. What are some of your favorite SAHM activities?
