My Vanilla Scent Layering Routine 🍦 How i smell like a cupcake all day 🫧✨🍰 I posted my products I use a little if you scroll! 🧖🏾♀️
1. Sugar Scrub! - good & smooth scent base for the next steps…
2. moisturizing unscented lotion
3. Yummy Scented lotion 🧴 (Treehut Body Lotion)
4. Body oil (Saltair preferred)
5. Perfume (I use Tonka right now) 💋
6. Dusting powder (optional)
The first step that is the most crucial is exfoliating! I have the Treehut Vanilla body scrub I use at least 2 times a week. Soap makes a difference! After that, I always go in with a deep moisturizing lotion (can be unscented I love Gold Bond 😭), then a follow up with my thick vanilla lotion from Treehut, then a nice thick delicious smelling oil by Saltair. When I have more layers on - I like to seal everything in with a dusting powder🍦 #vanillagirl#scentlayering#vanillascented#showerroutine#femininehygeine

Read moreBeyond just smelling good, a carefully curated vanilla scent layering routine can truly transform your everyday experience, making you feel enveloped in a warm, sweet, and utterly delightful aura. I've spent years perfecting my own routine, and trust me, it's more than just spraying on a perfume! If you're like me and dream of smelling like a delicious cupcake all day, here are some deeper insights and tips I've picked up.
The magic of layering lies in creating a 'scent canvas' on your skin. Think of it like building a beautiful painting, layer by layer. Each body care product contributes to the overall longevity and depth of your chosen fragrance. Starting with freshly exfoliated skin is non-negotiable. Using a sugar scrub, like my go-to vanilla one, doesn't just remove dead skin cells; it creates the smoothest possible surface for subsequent lotions and oils to absorb deeply. This absorption is key to locking in moisture and, crucially, the fragrance molecules, ensuring they don't evaporate too quickly.
Following exfoliation, hydration is paramount. I always start with an unscented, deep moisturizing lotion. This acts as a neutral, super-absorbent base. It locks in the hydration from your shower and prepares your skin to really hold onto the scented layers without any clashing notes. Then comes the fun part: a good quality vanilla-scented lotion. This second layer of moisturizer amplifies the vanilla theme. Apply it generously while your skin is still slightly damp – this helps to seal in even more moisture and scent.
Next, body oil is a game-changer for longevity. Oils are fantastic emollients that create a barrier, trapping the fragrance close to your skin. Patting a rich vanilla or even a complementary scented oil over your lotion creates a luxurious, long-lasting finish. I find that this step truly makes a difference in how long I smell amazing throughout the day. It also adds a beautiful sheen to the skin, enhancing that sweet and feminine aesthetic.
Finally, your chosen vanilla perfume or fragrance becomes the star. Apply it to pulse points – wrists, neck, behind the ears, even behind your knees. These warm areas help to diffuse the scent gently all day. Don't rub your wrists together after spraying; this can break down the fragrance molecules. If you're using a dusting powder, it’s the perfect final touch, especially in humid climates, to seal everything in and give a soft, velvety feel.
To elevate your vanilla scent layering routine even further, consider the nuances of vanilla itself. Are you drawn to a rich, gourmand vanilla that smells like baked goods, or a smoky, woody vanilla, or perhaps one with brighter floral notes? Experiment with different types of vanilla body care products to find your perfect combination. You can also introduce complementary notes like caramel, coconut, or amber in your lotions or oils to add complexity without overpowering the vanilla. Remember, the goal is to create a harmonious blend that makes you feel confident and delicious, like a walking cupcake, from morning till night!
