🤷🏼♀️🎭
It’s truly draining when those we trust start to behave differently, almost as if they’re putting on a mask. From my experience, noticing someone suddenly change can feel like a betrayal, especially when you’ve invested emotionally. People often act differently in certain social settings, which creates confusion about who they really are. What I’ve learned is that these ‘masquerades’ usually stem from personal struggles or the pressure to fit in, rather than outright deception. When I encountered this in my friendships, I found that open communication helped me understand the reasons behind their behavior, even if it was uncomfortable at first. Additionally, setting healthy boundaries became essential to protect my peace of mind. Recognizing when someone’s behavior is more about their issues than mine has empowered me not to take changes personally. If you’re feeling sick of the masquerade, focusing on authentic connections and giving yourself permission to walk away from toxic dynamics can be liberating. Remember, it’s okay to prioritize your well-being and seek out relationships where you feel truly seen and valued.
