Green Threads Fashion Show
I was chosen to make a look for the Green Threads Fashion Show in Rockford,IL!
The designers chosen had to make a look completely out of scrap and deadstock fabrics to promote sustainability!
I save all of my fabric scraps since I design lingerie and use small pieces for my designs so this was a fun project for me! I got to dump out my scrap bin and just patchwork a bunch of random pieces together to make the skirt! The corset top is actually made from a vintage pillowcase! And so is the skirt I’m wearing if you swipe :)
Comment what you think! I plan on making more of these skirts to sell at my summer markets 🤍

The Green Threads Fashion Show emphasizes the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry, encouraging designers to utilize scrap and deadstock fabrics. By upcycling materials, we can reduce waste and promote eco-friendly practices. My outfit, constructed from fabric scraps and a vintage pillowcase, showcases the beauty of innovative design through sustainable methods. Brands and designers globally are increasingly adopting sustainable practices, reflecting a growing consumer demand for eco-conscious fashion. This shift not only promotes environmental responsibility but also highlights the creativity involved in fabric repurposing. As I showcased my design, I was thrilled to engage with fellow fashion enthusiasts who share a passion for sustainability. The journey to creating this look was both fun and rewarding, as it allowed me to delve into my collection of fabric scraps, turning what could have been waste into a stunning fashion statement. As the world embraces sustainable living, events like the Green Threads Fashion Show become vital platforms to inspire others and showcase the endless possibilities of eco-friendly fashion.
