How I went from obese to fit in 8 months

There was a version of me that felt stuck.

Not just in my body… but in my mind.

I remembered when there was a time when grocery shopping was a chore.

Walking up a few flight of stairs would make me pant like it was someone who has done an hour of intense cardio.

I smiled in photos, laughed with friends..

but deep down, I wasn’t happy with who I was becoming.

I told myself I’d start “one day.”

One day turned into months.

Months turned into years.

Until one day, I got tired of feeling disappointed in myself

Going to the gym wasn’t easy.

Some days I hated it.

Some days I wanted to quit.

But I kept showing up.. even when no one noticed, even when progress felt slow.

And slowly… things changed.

I controlled my diet.

I worked hard in the gym.

And soon the weight came off.

But more importantly..

I learned discipline.

I learned patience.

I learned how to keep promises to myself.

I became calmer.

More confident.

More grounded.

I stopped chasing validation.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt at peace with myself.

This journey taught me that real change isn’t about looking good for others.

It’s about respecting yourself enough to not give up.

If you’re struggling right now.

please know this:

You’re not broken.

You’re just in the middle of becoming.

And if I can do it…

so can you. 💛💪

... Read moreThroughout my 8-month transformation, the biggest challenge was maintaining motivation when progress felt invisible. I learned that consistency beats intensity; even small daily efforts add up over time. Tracking my meals helped me take control of my diet without obsessing over every calorie, which made sticking to healthy choices easier. Incorporating light cardio gradually built my endurance, turning what once left me breathless into manageable workouts. I also realized mental wellness is crucial—practicing patience and self-compassion kept me grounded through setbacks. Surrounding myself with supportive friends and celebrating small wins gave me the encouragement I needed when I struggled. One unexpected lesson was how discipline in one area spills into others, improving my confidence and reducing my need for validation. This shift helped me find peace not just with my appearance but with who I am. For anyone feeling stuck, remember you’re in the middle of a journey—embrace every step of becoming your best self.

✨ From PCOS to My First Pregnancy ✨
I dated my husband for 9 years and we’ve been married for 2. For as long as I can remember, my menstrual cycles were irregular and painful. In my early 20s, I gained weight rapidly and brushed it off as university stress, poor lifestyle habits, and lack of exercise — the “normal” uni life excuses.
