☁️bigger than the whole sky☁️
Started working on a painting today of my dog in front of my house. We lost her in July, and I’ve never painted anything like this before, but it’s based on a favorite photo of her and I felt called to put it on canvas so I can look at it every day. It was her favorite place and I sit out there and imagine she’s still on the grass, loving the sunshine, chewing on her favorite toy. I miss her so much every day & this made me feel her closer today ❤️
Pet portraits are a beautiful way to celebrate our furry friends and keep their memory alive. They can serve as a touching reminder of the joy they brought into our lives. When creating a pet portrait, consider capturing not just the physical likeness of your pet, but also their personality and spirit. Utilize favorite photos to inspire your artwork, focusing on moments that illustrate their unique character. In addition, incorporating elements that represent special places or items associated with your pet can deepen the emotional connection within the painting. Whether it's their favorite spot in the yard, a beloved toy, or even a particular season that evokes fond memories, these details will help convey the story through your art. Art therapy has been recognized for its ability to provide solace and healing during times of grief. Engaging in creative activities can help process emotions and provide an outlet for remembrance. It's not just about the finished piece; the journey of creating can be profoundly therapeutic, allowing for reflection and connection with cherished memories. When sharing your artwork, consider joining communities focused on pet memorials and art. You can also explore hashtags like #petportrait and #artfortheheart to connect with others who share similar experiences. By doing so, you may find comfort in knowing that your expression of love and remembrance resonates with many who have faced similar losses.
