The Blue Paradox 💧🌎💧

The Blue Paradox exhibit raises awareness about the growing plastic crisis impacting our planet. Currently, 75% of litter in the Mississippi River consists of plastic, which poses a significant threat to marine life and ecosystems. The impact extends to our oceans, where 39% of nearshore litter is attributed to snack wrappers and other single-use plastics. Every year, 353 million tons of plastic waste are generated globally, with 40% stemming from single-use packaging. Alarmingly, only 15% of plastic is collected for recycling, and merely 9% of all plastic produced is actually recycled.
