🦚🦋Coming Home🦋🦚
This piece is an extension of a visual series created around self-return, inner authority, and wholeness.
It was written to express what healing looks like when it’s quiet, embodied, and real.
You don’t chase yourself back.
You come home.

Healing is often misunderstood as a dramatic or external process, but true healing can be subtle, internal, and deeply grounding. From my experience, the journey back to oneself—what some call "coming home"—involves a quiet kind of self-reconnection that doesn't rely on forcing or chasing change. Instead, it’s about embracing the present moment and recognizing the inner authority that has always been there. When I first began exploring healing through mindful practices, I noticed that progress wasn't linear. It didn’t involve rushing through emotions or seeking quick fixes. Instead, the healing felt embodied: my body, mind, and spirit slowly realigned as I allowed space for honesty and vulnerability within myself. One powerful tool in this process has been journaling about my thoughts and feelings without judgment. This helped me identify patterns where I might have been resisting parts of myself, which naturally opened the door to self-love and acceptance. Another supportive practice is quiet meditation or simply sitting with the senses, acknowledging the present without distraction. Incorporating creative outlets like visual art or gentle movement also enhanced my sense of wholeness. These activities encourage self-expression that doesn’t rely on words but conveys the deep inner landscape—facilitating a healing dialogue between my conscious and unconscious mind. The phrase "You don’t chase yourself back. You come home." resonates because it captures the essence of healing as a homecoming rather than a pursuit. It's a reminder that everything needed for healing exists within us; the work is to listen, honor, and gently return to that space. For anyone on this path, embracing patience and kindness towards oneself can transform the healing experience from something daunting into an empowering journey of self-love and inner work. Remember, healing is personal and unique—there is no right or wrong way, only your way home.
