Paint Samples Testing - Renov Week 6 ✨

We finally decided on the 7 paint colours to test which we bought from Shopee & I think some of the colours we decided to test are maybe colours that people would seldom choose & decided to just give it a try

1st row from Left

1. Dreamland

2. Natural Cane

3. Artist Impression

4. Barn House

2nd row from left

1. Apple White

2. Vintage vase

3. Silent Hour

When we thought carpentry was just one part of the renov that takes up alot of energy and brain cells.... then comes the selection of paint where we are spoiled for choices. But after much days of thinking, we finally decided on the final paint colours of the house.

And for the painting, we actually got an external vendor to do instead of our ID which save us at least $400+....

... Read moreChoosing the right color for the outside of your house can feel overwhelming, especially with so many stunning shades available nowadays. From my personal experience during week 6 of our renovation, I found that testing paint samples on-site gave much-needed clarity. It’s important not only to consider trendy colors but also to see how they look in different lights throughout the day. Some colors we tested, like Dreamland and Silent Hour, stood out because they’re less common but provide a fresh, calming vibe to exterior walls. If you’re wondering what color to paint the outside of a house in the UK, for instance, it's worth considering local environment and architecture styles. Neutral tones like Natural Cane or Vintage Vase can blend beautifully with traditional settings, while bolder shades like Artist Impression might add a modern touch. I also learned that the method of applying the paint influences the final look. Hiring an external vendor rather than relying solely on your interior designer for painting saved us a significant amount without compromising quality. This approach might prove economical for anyone taking on a renovation project. Overall, testing samples firsthand and being open to unorthodox colors led to a more satisfying result that reflects personality and suits the surroundings. If you’re planning exterior painting, take time to get multiple sample cans and observe them daily before making a final choice.

We didn’t get a single paint sample.
We didn’t have the luxury of time so we couldn’t get paint samples to try on our walls, we didn’t even go to a single paint shop to see the colours for ourselves. Now, this would usually spell a bad omen since we were going with ONE colour throughout. It was make or break. But here’s what I

🎨 Picking paint colors from just a catalogue?
Big mistake 😅 What you see on paper is not what you’ll see on your walls. ✅ Paint always looks about a shade darker once it’s up. ✅ Lighting changes everything (warm, white, 3K, 4K — totally different vibes). ✅ Samples let you see the real color in your space, next to your laminates, tiles, an
