... Read moreHey sisters! I've been on such a journey lately, delving deeper into what it truly means to be a woman called by God, especially when it comes to marriage. We often pray for our future spouses, but how often do we truly prepare ourselves for the profound "calling before the covenant"? It's more than just finding 'the one'; it's about becoming 'the one' God has destined you to be. Many of us wonder, 'Are there actual signs indicating one is being appointed a husband?' Absolutely! From my own experience and what I've learned, these signs aren't always grand pronouncements. Sometimes, it's a deep inner peace about your season of singleness, a profound sense of purpose that doesn't depend on a partner, or a consistent stirring in your spirit towards growth and healing. You might find yourself naturally drawn to cultivating virtues like patience, kindness, and discernment. God often uses this preparatory period to refine us, to heal what's still unhealed within us, and to shape us into women who can truly carry the weight of a sacred covenant. Itโ€™s about becoming a 'safe place for Godโ€™s promises' to manifest, not just in your life, but in your future family. And let's talk about 'wife submission' for a moment, because this term can sometimes get a bad rap. In the context of a God-appointed marriage, it's not about being a doormat or losing your voice. Instead, it's a beautiful dance of mutual respect and partnership, rooted in a shared submission to Christ first and foremost. It means willingly choosing to support, honor, and uplift your husband, just as he is called to love and cherish you sacrificially. Preparing for this kind of submission involves a deep understanding of your own worth in Christ, knowing that you are cherished and capable. Itโ€™s about building a spiritual foundation where both partners are striving to serve God and each other, creating a truly harmonious home. Itโ€™s a powerful act of trust and faith in Godโ€™s design for marriage, where both partners flourish. Finally, you might come across profound biblical phrases like 'he will strike your heel' and wonder how they connect to your journey as an appointed wife. This phrase, from Genesis, speaks to the spiritual battles that exist, but also to God's ultimate victory. What I've come to understand is that even in a God-appointed marriage, we are not exempt from challenges โ€“ spiritual attacks, misunderstandings, or external pressures. Knowing that 'he will strike your heel' reminds us that while adversities may come and cause pain (the heel strike), God has already secured the ultimate victory (crushing the serpent's head). This perspective helps us to prepare for the covenant not with naivetรฉ, but with a resilient faith, knowing that we are part of a larger divine plan. It empowers us to stand firm, pray diligently, and trust that God fights for our marriage, guiding us through every spiritual skirmish. My journey has taught me that preparing for a God-appointed marriage is a holistic process โ€“ mind, body, and spirit. It's about aligning with God's will, understanding His signs, and embracing the profound beauty of a Christ-centered covenant, even when facing life's "heel strikes." If you're yearning for this kind of depth, I truly encourage you to explore resources that guide you through this profound preparation. Itโ€™s been life-changing for me!
