Chicken Broth Recipe

More than ever, it is extremely important for us all to keep our immune systems as strong as possible - and making homemade chicken soup is a good place to start! I usually make my own chicken broth when I’ve come down with a cold and it always helps me heal from a cold faster and relieves cold systems. Keep in mind that homemade chicken broth is not only a good way to help you if you become sick but can also be used as a preventative measure to getting sick. INGREDIENTS

2 bone-in chicken breasts

6-8 cut chicken wings

4 celery stalks

3 large carrots

1 yellow onion

1 bunch of Italian parsley

1 bunch of dill

Water

Salt and pepper (to taste) ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

DIRECTIONS

1. Rinse raw chicken breasts and chicken wings with water to clean

2. Place chicken into a large pot

3. Wash/scrub carrots and celery with water, cut in half, and add to pot

4. Peel onion, cut into 4 pieces, and add to pot

5. Rinse handful of parsley and dill under water and add to pot

6. Fill pot to the top with water until chicken/vegetables are fully covered

7. Bring to boil and add salt and pepper to taste

8. Let simmer for 3-4 hours, or until content with flavor

9. Strain broth using a mesh strainer or cheese cloth
