... Read moreI recently had the most incredible time exploring one of Epcot's newest and most enchanting additions: Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana! If you're planning a trip to Disney World, especially Epcot, you absolutely have to add this to your must-do list. It's more than just an attraction; it's an immersive experience that truly brings the magic of Moana to life.
My visit started with anticipation, and it did not disappoint. The highlight for me, and I'm sure for many others, is seeing the magnificent Te Fiti topiary. It's absolutely breathtaking! This large, lush green sculpture of Te Fiti, beautifully adorned with colorful flowers, sits majestically by a small waterfall feature. The attention to detail is stunning, and it truly captures the essence of the beloved character from Disney's Moana. You'll want to take countless photos here! From a wide view, you can appreciate the impressive scale of the Te Fiti topiary sculpture, surrounded by a serene water pool, making for a perfect photo op.
What makes Journey of Water so unique is its interactive nature. It’s a self-guided, outdoor trail where you learn about the water cycle in a fun, engaging way, guided by the spirit of water itself. As you walk through, you encounter various water features – from playful fountains that respond to your movements to cascading waterfalls. There's even a tall, rocky structure with mist rising, featuring a captivating spiral design and small plants, which adds to the natural, enchanting atmosphere. My kids (and honestly, I did too!) loved interacting with the water, making it jump and spray. It's a fantastic way to cool off on a hot Florida day, and it's genuinely a family-friendly Disney attraction that everyone can enjoy.
Finding Journey of Water is quite easy; it's located in the World Nature neighborhood of Epcot, near The Land Pavilion (where Living with the Land and Soarin' are). Keep an eye out for the distinctive rock formations and lush greenery, and you'll spot it. It's a great spot to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the park, offering a peaceful yet engaging environment.
For anyone wondering about "Te Fiti island" or "Moana 2" connections, while this attraction doesn't directly preview Moana 2, it deeply immerses you in the spirit of the first film, especially regarding the importance of nature and the environment, themes central to Te Fiti's story. It truly feels like walking through a part of Moana's world.
Here are a few tips from my personal experience to make your visit even better:
Go Early or Late: To avoid the biggest crowds, try to visit right after park opening or closer to closing. The evening lighting also adds a magical glow to Te Fiti!
Wear Appropriate Footwear: While you won't get soaked unless you want to, there are interactive water elements, so waterproof shoes or sandals can be a good idea.
Embrace the Interaction: Don't be shy! Participate in the water activities; that's where the fun truly lies.
Look for Hidden Details: Disney Imagineers always hide little gems. Keep an eye out for interesting carvings or plant life.
Stay Hydrated: It's an outdoor attraction, so bring water, especially on warm days.
Overall, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is a truly special addition to Epcot. It celebrates nature, offers interactive fun for all ages, and features a truly iconic representation of Te Fiti. It’s a gentle, beautiful experience that reminds us of the power and wonder of water, just as Moana taught us. Definitely don't miss out on this unique and heartwarming adventure during your next Disney trip!
