We fight about it every week. Anyone else?
My husband and I keep getting stuck in the same argument, he just canāt seem to grasp that WFH is still real work, not āhanging out at home.ā Today, I was buried in a project when he walked over and said: āCan you run to my dadās? His computerās acting up, should be quick.ā
I told him I had meetings this afternoon and couldnāt just drop my work to leave. His dadās 20 minutes away driving there, fixing whateverās wrong plus driving back? Thatās at least an hour, maybe more. But he acted like I was being uncooperative. Itās like because Iām in the house instead of an office, he thinks Iām available whenever for favors. Iāve explained my deadlines, my meeting schedule, and it still doesnāt click.
This same fight every week is starting to wear on me. Am I the only one with a spouse who mixes up WFH with āfree timeā? Itās a real job with real responsibilities?
My husband used to do this when I was working from home, not necessarily go out the house to run an errand, but he would ask me to do little things around the house and itās like no I have the work from home job where I couldnāt just get up from my desk. They actually had cameras watching us and if we did go away for reasons that we couldnāt explain then we would get reprimanded.
