What do you even use it for that makes it worth?
I grew up thinking every living room has to have a coffee table. My parents had one, it was just part of the living room package. So when I bought my first house, I got a furniture set that came with one because that’s what you do.
But it’s just a big dust magnet that collects random junk. And don’t get me started on how it gets in the way. I’m always tripping over it when I walk from the couch to the kitchen, and cleaning under it is such a hassle. I gotta drag the whole thing just to sweep or vacuum.
It feels like one of those outdated things we hang onto cause we’re used to it, not cause it’s useful. So do we really need a giant table in the middle of the room just to set a mug on?
