What They Don't Tell You About Content Creation
I have been taking content creation seriously for about a year now, and there have been many misconceptions about creating content for social media that I've learned.
I've seen the "How to go viral" posts, and "How to grow your account" posts and to be honest with you, what I'm going to tell you is the most honest advice you will hear when it comes to content creation.
Advice 1️⃣: You must have thick skin.
You have to have a strong "why" when it comes to sharing your work on social media because there will be days where you won't get as much support as you would like and you need to have a strong foundation and a strong purpose for you to keep going on this journey.
You also have to have thick skin for disagreeable comments and negative comments from other accounts.
Make sure to remember why you're doing it so you don't let the negativity and the disappointment sway you from stopping.
Advice 2️⃣: You have to experiment with your content and post as much as possible to see what works for you ASAP.
Some people would disagree on the amount of posts you should share a day but to be honest with you, if you want to find out the content your audience like to consume the most, you will have to post as much as possible and experiment different types of content to see which one resonates with the audience the most.
I wish more accounts shared how much creators will have to experiment with their content to find "The Sweet Spot" when it comes to what works for them and their supporters.
Experimenting takes a long time, and it is not an overnight thing.
Advice 3️⃣: You must create without expectations.
High expectations lead to great disappointment.
When you are creating for social media, please make sure to create without expectations.
Create from the heart and not for outside validation.
When you create for outside validation, you tend to get disappointed by the results from your followers.
When you create from your heart, you tend to focus on elevating your skills to be better.
When you do that, it relieves the pressure of virality or getting a lot of likes.
You will shift your focus on the process of creation and your evolution as the primary goal, and whoever comes across your work and loves it is the bonus.
