My Experience With Starting A New IG Page

Who doesn't love a fresh start?

Creating a new social media page may sound like a daunting task because you see the struggles from other creators in growing their accounts where they already have a following.

So, imagine wanting to grow a new page from scratch?

But that's what I decided to do because I wanted to start fresh with the social media advice I was researching about.

On November 25 last year, I created a new Instagram account.

I did that because my old Instagram account I created since 2015, I have been posting inconsistently on that account.

There were times when I posted once a month or once every 2 months.

Due to the lack of posting, my account was unable to gain a reach to a larger audience, and I believe it had a lot of ghost followers.

Growing an account from scratch is not easy.

It takes a lot of mental strength to keep going.

My new Instagram account just celebrated its two-month anniversary, and I still have under 50 followers.

I thought by now I would at least have 100 followers. The process has been very humbling.

Ever since facing that reality, I've been thinking of ways to create shareable content related to my niche that people will resonate with.

Like I said in one of my previous posts, one of the most important pieces of advice about content creation is experimentation.

Content creation is all about trial and error in knowing what is best for you and your supporters.

The first phase is tough, but it's definitely worth it.

Another reason why I like that I created a new account is that I can be more intentional with what I am posting.

With the social media accounts I've created in the past, I would post for the sake of posting without being intentional about it.

Now, with this account, I know that the only posts will be about my niche, which is journalism.

I love it because I can truly find my tribe who is interested in what I have to offer.
