The Weeknd: Hurry up Tomorrow Review + Reactions:
- 1st Listen: 7.5/10 initially my first listen I don’t think I fully grasped everything and based my rating on initial beat production and vocals wise (it was also 12am- 1am and I was lowkey sleepy before I even started listening), lowkey felt like I should have liked it more than I did for a first listen
- 2nd Listen: 8/10 I paid attention to what Abel was actually saying and the beat production again and the transitionssss GODLY
- 3rd Listen: 9/10 everything was piecing together and sounding much betterrrr, I can’t believe it didn’t like it that much at first! if you had this same initial reaction just run it back i promiseeee it will hit better (but then again maybe that’s just me personally LMAO 🤷♀️)
Overall rating: 9/10 (Afterhours 10/10 and Dawn FM 10/10) still have my heart, but I think this will grow on me for sure, also sad this is the end of an era mannnn🥲

After spending some serious time with The Weeknd's 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' album, I wanted to share a deeper dive into why this record truly deserves multiple listens. As I mentioned, my rating climbed from a 7.5 to a solid 9/10, and honestly, I think it's still growing on me. If you're someone who didn't quite 'get it' on the first pass, trust me and run it back – the layers in this album are incredible! Let's talk about some of the stand-out tracks that really made this album shine for me. 'Wake Me Up' was an instant banger that grabbed my attention from the get-go, living up to its name and setting a high bar for the rest of the album. Then there's 'Without a Warning,' which has such a captivating vibe that it quickly became one of my go-to tracks. And for those of you wondering about 'Given Up on Me,' it's a poignant track on the album that really showcases Abel's lyrical depth, making you feel every word. While 'The Abyss ft Lana' and 'Red Terror' weren't specifically on my initial favorite list, they contribute so much to the album's atmospheric depth and are definitely worth a closer listen, especially for their intricate production. One of the most striking aspects of 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is its thematic richness. The album feels like a journey, and the comment about it being 'the end of an era' really resonates. It makes me wonder what new artistic direction The Weeknd will explore next, and if this album is a bridge to something entirely different. The lyrical content, especially when you dig into sites like Genius for interpretations, adds so much more to the experience, revealing the intricate storytelling woven throughout. It's a testament to his artistry that each listen uncovers new meaning and appreciation. Compared to his previous masterpieces like 'After Hours' and 'Dawn FM' – both 10/10 in my book – 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' holds its own. While it might not have hit me with the same immediate impact, its slow burn and growing appeal make it incredibly rewarding. It's an album that demands your patience and attention, and it repays it tenfold. For anyone keen to experience this evolving masterpiece, you can easily find 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Give it the time it deserves; you won't regret it!
