A little fall porch decor ✨
#lemon8diarychallenge Fall/Autumn is my FAVORITE time of year! I decided to do a little DYI with my porch decorations this year. I purchased the pumpkins from Marshall’s and Ross and the flowers are from Dollar Tree. My door reef is from Sam’s Club and the sign in the middle of it was purchased at Dollar General 🎃 🍂
Hey boo, fall is truly my favorite time of year, and creating a welcoming porch is all part of the fun! Building on the amazing DIY fall decor ideas shared, I wanted to dive into how lighting can truly elevate that cozy autumn vibe. You’ve got the pumpkins, the wreath, and probably some adorable 'FALL' signage you found at a steal – now let's make it glow! I mean, what's a beautiful fall porch without a little enchanting light to highlight all your hard work as the evenings draw in? When I'm thinking about fall lighting, I always aim for warmth and a touch of magic. My go-to is often string lights, especially those with a warm white glow. They're incredibly versatile! You can drape them around your front door frame, weave them through your existing wreath to give it an extra sparkle, or even gather them inside clear glass lanterns for a soft, inviting radiance. Battery-operated options are fantastic because you don't have to worry about outlets, giving you freedom to place them anywhere. I've even seen some really cute pumpkin-shaped string lights that add a playful touch! Another trick I love is using solar-powered pathway lights. They're super easy to install – just stick them in the ground along your walkway or nestled in planters. They charge all day and automatically turn on at dusk, providing a gentle illumination that guides guests right to your festive front door. For a more rustic or cozy feel, consider incorporating lanterns. You can find beautiful ones at places like HomeGoods or even thrift stores, and then pop in a battery-operated candle. These give off a flicker that mimics real candlelight but without any fire hazard – perfect for a family-friendly porch. Don't forget about uplighting! A small spotlight placed strategically to highlight a particularly beautiful mum plant or a stack of gourds can create dramatic shadows and draw attention to your favorite decor pieces. And for those who love a bit of DIY, mason jar lights are always a hit. Simply gather some old mason jars, fill them with tiny fairy lights, and hang them from hooks or place them on steps. They cast such a lovely, diffused light that instantly makes everything feel more intimate and inviting. It's an easy way to add a personal touch that truly brightens your autumn nights. Finally, think about timing. Many battery-operated lights come with timers, so you can set them to turn on automatically for a few hours each evening. This means your porch is always glowing right when you get home from work or as the sun sets, without you having to lift a finger. It adds so much to the overall ambiance and makes your porch feel like a truly special spot during this cozy season. Adding these lighting elements truly takes your fall decor from lovely to absolutely amazing, creating a welcoming glow that you, your family, and your neighbors will adore all through the FALL!
