Curly Hairstyle Tutorial 🤍
I start off my sections my front bag pieces and putting them in a clip to section off. I then go in and do a half up ponytail and secure that with a hair tie.I let down my front pieces and redefine my middle part to make sure it’s straight. I then get each side twist and secure it back with a bobby pin. This gives such an effortless but done up look. I love using curl cream on the rest of my hair and leaving it down ✨

Okay, let's talk about something that totally transformed my curly hair journey: layered haircuts for curly hair! If you've ever felt like your curls are weighed down, lack shape, or just form a 'triangle' around your face, layers might be your new best friend. I used to struggle with making my curls look defined and voluminous, even after following every curly hairstyle tutorial out there. But getting the right cut with layers? Game changer! Why are layers so amazing for us curly-haired folks? First, they add incredible volume and movement. Instead of a heavy, uniform mass, layers allow your individual curl clumps to spring up and create beautiful, natural bounce. Secondly, they help to reduce bulk, especially if you have very thick hair. This not only makes styling easier but also prevents that dreaded 'helmet head' look. Thirdly, layers create shape and dimension. They can frame your face beautifully, highlight your best features, and give your overall look a much more dynamic feel. My stylist always cuts my curls dry, which is super important for layers because curls shrink differently! When you're thinking about getting layered haircuts for curly hair, it's not a one-size-fits-all situation. There are different types of layers to consider. Long layers are great for adding subtle movement and volume without sacrificing length. They're perfect if you're new to layers or want a more understated look. Then there are face-framing layers, which can really soften your features and give your curls a beautiful cascade around your face. These are fantastic for adding a pop to your look, especially when you do a curly hairstyle tutorial like a half-updo, because those shorter pieces around your face get highlighted. Finally, some stylists use internal layers to remove weight from the inside of your hair, giving you volume without making the layers obvious on the outside. My advice? Find a stylist who specializes in curly hair! They understand how curls behave and will cut your hair dry to ensure the layers fall perfectly. Don't be afraid to bring in inspiration photos, and clearly communicate what you want. After getting my layers, I found that my styling routine became so much easier. My curls naturally clump better, and styles like the half-up, twisted look I shared in my Curly Hairstyle Tutorial now look even more polished and effortless. It’s all about creating a foundation that lets your curls shine! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend exploring how layers can transform your curly hair.
