The Case For Public Libraries
So I was thinking to myself the other night: how much money have I saved by using my library? I go to the library at least once a week, and up to three times. I always walk away with SOMETHING to read. I also always have 5 audiobooks in my Libby library to listen to while I work or do chores.
I decided to sit down last night/this afternoon and calculate how much money I’ve saved so far. I counted every single book I’ve checked out from the library or from Libby, read or not, and the results were astounding.
$3254.09 as of August 3rd, 2025
I will be updating the totals as we finish out the last 4 months of the year. I will have an updated total posted on January 1st, 2026. Stay tuned!
