If you're visiting Toyama and love seafood, Himi Fishing Port is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. 🦀🌊
Known for its fresh catches and local seafood, it's a great place to enjoy a meal made with ingredients straight from the port.
During our visit, we ordered the Sashimi Set (¥2,500) and the Fisherman's Soup in Clay Pot (¥2,080). The sashimi was incredibly fresh, with generous portions and a good variety of seafood. The clay pot soup was comforting and packed with seafood, making it perfect if you're visiting on a cooler day.
The market itself isn't very big, so we'd recommend setting aside around 1–2 hours to explore, have a meal, and browse the local shops. If you're driving, it's an easy stop to combine with other attractions around Toyama.
Overall, we'd recommend Himi Fishing Port if you're looking for a fresh seafood experience without the crowds of some of Japan's bigger fish markets.
