What Must You Release? (Healing)

You can’t step into purpose while holding onto what broke you.

Some things didn’t destroy you

but they’ve been quietly holding you back.

Unforgiveness. Fear. Old versions of you.

You’ve learned how to carry it

but God never asked you to.

There is freedom waiting on the other side of your release.

📖 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past” Isaiah 43:18

You don’t have to carry what God is trying to heal.

💭 Be honest what are you still holding onto?

It’s common to think that carrying these wounds is a form of strength or loyalty to our past, but in reality, they quietly restrain us from fully living the life we were created for. From personal experience, releasing these burdens doesn’t mean forgetting or minimizing what happened but choosing not to let those painful experiences define me anymore. It’s like Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” This verse reminds me that healing begins when I stop dwelling on old pain and begin trusting in God’s promise for renewal. One surprising discovery was how carrying unforgiveness toward others was like carrying a heavy backpack filled with stones. Every step forward felt tiring and slow. When I finally chose to forgive, not only did my heart lighten, but a new clarity and energy to pursue my goals emerged. Fear, too, was a silent jailer — preventing me from taking risks or embracing new opportunities. Confronting fear with faith gradually broke those chains. Another crucial step was releasing my old self-concept. I realized that clinging to past versions of me — the insecure, hurt, or doubtful person — stopped me from stepping into the person I am becoming. God is asking us not to carry what He wants to heal. By surrendering these aspects, I experienced an incredible sense of freedom and a deeper connection to my purpose. If you find yourself stuck, ask: What am I still holding onto? It might be an old grudge, a debilitating fear, or a narrative that no longer serves you. The process of release is sometimes uncomfortable but necessary for transformation. Embracing healing through God's love opens the door to a renewed life, where freedom and purpose coexist. Remember, healing is a journey, not a destination. Be patient and gentle with yourself as you let go, trusting that on the other side of release is the freedom you've been searching for.
