My $3 yeast infection treatment plan
Hey sis, if you’ve been dealing with recurring yeast infections and over the counter creams aren’t cutting it, you gotta try this. After 3 months of misery, my OB-GYN gave me this plan and it’s cheap ($3 with insurance, $30 without at any pharmacy).
The Rx Pills (Fluconazole):
• Mild: 1 pill on day 1 (done!).
• Recurring: 1 pill day 1, 1 pill day 4, 1 pill day 7 (3 total).
• Severe: 1 pill daily for 14 days (rare, but doc will confirm).
Probiotics Are NON-Negotiable, so don’t skimp on these, get a 500B+ CFU strain from Whole Foods/Natural Grocers (mine’s 850B, $30, kept in the fridge). Take 1 capsule 3x daily for 3 months to rebuild vaginal flora.
Stubborn Infections:
• During treatment, add boric acid suppositories (Amazon, $15) at night.
• Ditch tight pants/jeans, live in skirts/loose cotton PJs. Wash undies in hot water, sun-dry (or toss old ones if recurring).
This pill saved me from endless itching. Probiotics took 4 weeks to feel a difference, but now my pH feels balanced. Anyone else swear by boric acid or a specific probiotic brand? Did I miss a key step?
