this has to be one of the cosiest cafes in Brisbane & I am obsessed. 🥹
I thought this spot has opened so much more recently, but it’s already been 6 months! It’s a vinyl cafe serving up delish Thai food for breakfast, lunch & sometimes, even dinner.
As someone who is reasonably new to Thai food, the staff recommended that I try the Kao Soy, which I loved AND their matcha also gets the tick of approval. 👏🏼
I’m already looking forward to going back & trying everything else on their menu.
🚗 I’ve been lowkey worried about visiting this spot because of the location in terms of parking BUT they have multiple parks available directly next to the venue!

If you’re like me and still exploring Thai food, So What Stereo is a hidden gem that makes it easy and inviting. The golden curry broth in their Kao Soy is rich, comforting, and full of flavor, great for breakfast or lunch. I also noticed their warm vibe isn’t just from the food; the staff are genuinely lovely, making every visit feel personal. The vinyl theme adds a cool, retro feel that makes this cafe stand out in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley scene. Whether you’re a music lover or food enthusiast, it’s a perfect spot to relax. Don’t stress about parking – there are multiple spaces right next to the cafe, which was a relief for me. For those curious about their menu beyond Kao Soy and matcha, I’ve heard their golden curry broth is a must-try, and I’m definitely eyeing their dinner options next. The blend of cozy ambiance, tasty Thai dishes, and good vibes make So What Stereo my new go-to for cafe hopping in Brisbane.
