Day 1 in Singapore ✨

I only booked this trip 2 weeks ago, but it’s a destination that’s always been on my bucketlist… for some reason I thought it was too expensive to visit?! Today looked a little like:

ate at:

• 2050 matcha: cool concept but the matcha was super sweet

• bon bon matcha: hand whisked perfection

• Prince coffee house: a cute spot that will unfortunately be closing down - lots of other eateries in this area, just make sure you have cash.

• Rooftop sky bar at our hotel: we had complimentary drinks here because it was booked with luxury escapes yay 🥂

• COTE: a michelin star korean steakhouse that was 10/10

staying at COMO metropolitan, booked with luxury escapes - link to exact deal in my bio.

One of the biggest misconceptions I had was that Singapore is prohibitively expensive, but by choosing the right places to eat and stay, you can experience luxury and local flavors without going over budget. Starting with the coffee culture, spots like 2050 Matcha intrigued me with their innovative on-tap drinks, though the sweetness wasn’t for everyone. A better pick was Bon Bon Matcha, which offered a hand-whisked, authentic experience that really hit the spot. These cafes aren't just delightful for tastes but also great spots to relax and absorb the city’s vibrant vibe. Prince Coffee House was another highlight—quaint and filled with character, though be sure to carry cash as many local eateries do not accept cards. The area has several eateries, perfect for food explorers who enjoy discovering tucked-away gems. For those craving a special dining experience, COTE, a Michelin-star Korean steakhouse, was a gastronomic revelation and definitely worth visiting. The quality and presentation made it a 10/10 in my book. My stay at COMO Metropolitan through Luxury Escapes combined comfort and value. Booking through such deals can unlock complimentary perks like drinks at the rooftop sky bar, which made the evenings in Singapore feel extra special. Beyond the food and accommodation, I made sure to visit iconic free spots like Gardens by the Bay, letting me enjoy the beauty of Singapore without spending much. Exploring hawker centers also offered affordable, authentic local dishes that are a critical part of the Singaporean experience. If you’re planning a trip, consider flexible booking times and look out for flight deals—as I found flights for about $400 which is quite reasonable. Singapore’s diversity in food and attractions means you can tailor your itinerary to fit your budget while still enjoying a memorable adventure.
