Meatless Meal - Cabbage & Mushroom Rice

Yamitsuki Cabbage 🥬 & Japanese Mushroom Rice 🍄

A simple, addictive, meatless meal that hits all the right spots.

✨ Yamitsuki Cabbage (cant stop eating!)

1. Separate the cabbage leaves and cut into bite-sized pieces.

2. Toss with sesame oil, salt, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame seeds, and a bit of chicken bouillon powder.

3. I also added grated sesame seeds for an extra nutty kick !

🍚 Japanese Mushroom Rice

1. Use a pack of asian mixed mushrooms — slice or tear into smaller pieces.

2. Soak Japanese rice for 20 minutes.

3. In a pot (or rice cooker), add rice, then equal amounts of soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt — mix well.

4. Place the mushrooms on top and cook as usual.

5. When done, stir in a knob of butter and chopped spring onions.

I also love how both dishes use garlic and ginger — less prep, more flavor!

That’s it — an easy, satisfying, meatless meal.
