Saguaro National Park (West)
Saguaro National Park in June.
📝Description/Tips:start early and bring plenty of water
Started our Saguaro adventure on the Desert Discovery Nature Trail 🌵 The short paved loop is the perfect intro to the desert—giant saguaros, desert blooms, and a taste of Sonoran magic.
Bajada Loop Drive (6 miles, unpaved but usually passable in a car)
This scenic loop shows off the densest saguaro forests in the park. Stop at the Valley View Overlook Trail (0.8 miles roundtrip, easy) for sweeping desert views with mountains in the distance.
Signal Hill Picnic Area
A short, easy trail (0.3 miles) leads to petroglyphs left by the Hohokam people. A great cultural stop that pairs well with the scenery.
Since we arrived early we checked out the Visitor Center (Red Hills / Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum area) on the way out.
