Sipping Creativity, Framing My Story
Leaning into the things that makes my little girl heart smile. In any jamaican household, tea solves everything. Lol. And for me, I could drink tea anytime of the day and as a lover of pretty things, I do it in style. :)
On a related but different note, I took my first TV production class when I was 14 and I've always had an appreciation for storytelling through video and photos, so I took a class on shooting B-Roll and it was nice to be in a space that solely served the purpose of feeding my creative self.
You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.
-Maya Angelou

Tea is more than just a beverage; it’s a ritual that brings comfort and inspires connections. In Jamaican culture, tea is often regarded as a remedy that warms the soul and nurtures creativity. As a advocate for creative expression, I believe that our engagements with everyday items, like tea, can lead to profound creative insights. Shaping our narratives through storytelling is a timeless art that can be cultivated through various mediums, including photography and video. Many artists strive to capture the essence of their experiences—much like enjoying a cup of tea—finding inspiration in every sip. The quote from Maya Angelou aptly reflects this sentiment: "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." This encourages us to explore our creative outlets without hesitation. For those seeking to enhance their creativity, consider embracing simple practices that inspire you daily. Whether through journaling, painting, or engaging in discussions over a cup of tea, the possibilities are endless. By nurturing our interests and passions, we contribute to an ever-growing well of creativity that enriches not only our lives but also those around us. So, what's your favorite way to express creativity? Let's cherish these moments and cultivate our unique stories together.
