My adventure to Mohe, China, was truly unforgettable! Beyond just seeing the incredible Mohe Polaris Plaza, which is a must-visit, I discovered so much more about this unique northernmost city. If you're planning your own 'เที่ยวจีน' (travel to China) to experience the extreme beauty of the far north, here's what I learned and loved about this amazing destination. Mohe is often called China's 'Arctic' city, and for good reason! Located in Heilongjiang province, it's the northernmost point in China, offering landscapes and experiences unlike anywhere else in the country. In winter, temperatures can drop to extreme lows, making it a paradise for ice and snow enthusiasts. In summer, you might even catch the phenomenon of the midnight sun, where daylight lingers for hours. It’s a truly special place for 'เที่ยวจีน' enthusiasts looking for something off the beaten path. While the Mohe Polaris Plaza is definitely a highlight, there are so many other 'things to do in China's Mohe region. One of my favorite spots was the Arctic Village (Beiji Village), considered the true 'northern pole.' Here, you can send postcards from China's northernmost post office, visit the northernmost families, and see landmarks that signify the northernmost point of China. During winter, the village transforms with stunning ice carvings and snow sculptures that are just breathtaking. It’s a real winter wonderland! Another charming place is the Arctic Christmas Village, especially if you're traveling with family or just love festive vibes. It offers a unique European-style Christmas experience in the middle of China's far north. Don't miss the Golden Rooster Crown (Jinji Zui), a geographical marker that symbolizes the northernmost tip of China, resembling a rooster's head on the map. It's a great photo op and a cool spot to stand at the edge of the nation. Beyond these specific sites, the overall winter experience in 'โม่เหอ' is what truly captivated me. Imagine dog sledding through pristine snow, riding snowmobiles, or trying your hand at ice fishing on a frozen river. The ice lantern gardens are simply magical in the evenings, with intricate ice sculptures lit up in vibrant colors. For those braver souls, there's even the chance to plunge into icy waters, a popular local activity! If you're planning your trip, consider when you want to visit. For the full Arctic experience with snow, ice, and a chance to see the aurora borealis, winter (December to February) is ideal. Just remember to pack seriously warm clothing – layers are key! For a different vibe, summer (June to August) offers lush greenery, longer daylight hours, and milder temperatures, perfect for hiking and enjoying the midnight sun. Getting to Mohe usually involves a flight or train to Mohe city, then local transport to the various attractions. No matter when you go, Mohe promises an unforgettable adventure into China's farthest north!
