For years, I thought communication had to look a certain way.

Words.

Answers.

Direct responses.

But the more I learn about autism, the more I realize Bella has been showing me things all along through her routines, comfort items, patterns, and the little moments I almost overlooked.

This journey has taught me that understanding isn’t always about teaching someone to communicate differently.
