... Read moreOkay, so you've made these incredible Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls, right? But let's take them up a notch and make them truly unforgettable! I've been experimenting with this recipe for a while, and I've got some secret tips that'll make your holiday baking even easier and tastier. My Top Tips for Perfect Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls: Overnight Proofing Magic: One of my absolute favorite hacks, especially for a busy holiday morning, is preparing these Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls the night before. After you've rolled out the dough, spread the filling, and cut them into pieces, just arrange them in your baking dish. Cover them tightly with plastic wrap and pop them in the fridge overnight. In the morning, pull them out about an hour before you want to bake, let them come to room temperature and get wonderfully puffy, then bake as usual. It's a game-changer for a stress-free Christmas breakfast! Elevate Your Frosting: While the vanilla frosting shortcut is perfectly fine, if you have a few extra minutes, a homemade eggnog cream cheese frosting is undeniably divine. Here’s my go-to: combine 4 oz softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, a tiny pinch of freshly grated nutmeg, and 2-3 tablespoons of eggnog. Beat it until smooth and creamy. This rich frosting takes your Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls to a whole new level of decadence and really highlights that signature flavor! Spice It Up! For an extra kick of holiday warmth, I sometimes add a tiny pinch of ground cloves or allspice to the filling mixture along with the cinnamon. It really deepens that cozy, festive aroma and complements the eggnog beautifully. Don't be afraid to experiment with a little extra nutmeg in the filling too! Serving Suggestions Beyond Breakfast: These aren't just for breakfast! I love serving warm Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls with a strong cup of coffee or even as a dessert with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. They're also absolutely perfect for a holiday brunch spread or as a sweet treat for an afternoon gathering. Everyone always raves about them! Smart Storage: If you miraculously have any left (mine tend to disappear fast!), store these delicious Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. To enjoy them fresh-baked again, simply reheat briefly in the microwave or a low oven for a few minutes until warm and gooey. They taste almost as good as fresh! I hope these extra tips help you create the most amazing Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls that become a beloved tradition in your home, just like they have in mine!
