Tiny (Rental) Kitchen

The kitchen is definitely on the small side but we make it work! It’s definitely easier to maintain and do a nice basic clean daily.

This is post is definitely me trying to romanticize my life but I had so much fun making this!

Nearly everything is from Amazon, or has been gifted to us.

The Drawers under the sink is from Target 🎯

The Pantry is from Menards 🛠️

Let me know if you guys want to see anything else or have any tips for me!

... Read moreIt's amazing how much a tiny rental kitchen can frustrate you, but I've learned that with a few smart moves, it can actually become a space you love! Beyond just organizing, adding those personal touches makes all the difference. Renter-Friendly Decor That Makes a Statement: You don't need to paint or renovate to make your rental kitchen feel like home. I absolutely adore my yellow smiley face rug – it instantly brightens the wooden floor and adds a playful vibe! Consider peel-and-stick backsplash tiles for a pop of color or texture, or even removable wallpaper on an accent wall. Small plants, colorful dish towels, and unique utensil holders (like my wooden knife block that saves counter space!) can inject personality. Remember, the goal is to make it feel less temporary. Deep Dive into Smart Organization for Every Nook: My biggest challenge was truly maximizing every inch! Under the Sink: Those drawers I mentioned from Target are a game-changer. They neatly tuck away all my cleaning supplies in a white cleaning caddy, keeping everything accessible but out of sight. A black dish drying rack also fits perfectly, preventing countertop clutter. Pantry Power: The tall wooden pantry cabinet from Menards is essential. It's where I store all my larger foods and canned goods, keeping them organized with clear bins. A mounted spice rack on the inside of the door is a brilliant hack for easy access and saving shelf space. Countertop Freedom: I prioritize keeping my countertop open for food prep. This means my rice cooker, food chopper, toaster, and griddle are stored away in cabinets when not in use. It sounds like a hassle, but having a clear surface makes cooking so much more enjoyable. Drawer Magic: Don't underestimate drawer organizers! My bamboo organizer for silverware keeps things tidy, and using pot/pan lid organizers means no more rummaging for the right lid. Even my 'Mixed Media Silverware drawer' looks intentional now. Baking Bliss in a Small Rental: For fellow renters who love to bake, it can feel impossible. My trick? Multi-functional tools and vertical storage. I use stackable cooling racks and store baking sheets vertically in a file organizer. For ingredients, clear, airtight containers are a must for pantry neatness. And yes, my blue and silver circular saw-shaped pizza cutter (an honorable mention!) also proves that even small tools can bring joy! Tackling the Sink You Might "Hate": If you're like me and initially felt frustrated with your sink, there's hope! A black PUR water filter was easy to install and made a huge difference in water quality. A sleek silicone sink caddy keeps my Scrub Daddy sponge and soap neatly contained, preventing soggy messes. Even small details, like a pretty soap dispenser, can elevate the area. It's about making it functional and visually appealing, even if it's just a 25-inch sink! By implementing these renter-friendly solutions, you can transform your tiny kitchen into an efficient, beautiful, and highly functional space that truly feels like your own.
