... Read moreWow, can you believe my two magnificent boys, Monster Morty and Nipsey, are officially six years old? It truly feels like just yesterday I welcomed these two bundles of Rottweiler puppy energy into my life. Six years has flown by, filled with endless slobbery kisses, hilarious antics, and the kind of unconditional love only a dog mom understands. This year, we’ve been making sure to celebrate them in style, just like they deserve!
Watching them grow from tiny pups to these majestic, loyal companions has been an incredible journey. I still remember when they’d wrestle playfully on the living room floor near the white standing fan, or crash out for naps together on their favorite colorful blanket. Now, they’re just as likely to be found sprawled out for a snooze on the light brown carpet next to the black table after a long day of guarding the house from squirrels!
Celebrating a dog's birthday is such a special occasion, isn't it? For me, it's not just about a cake (though they definitely get one!). It’s about spoiling them a little extra, taking them to their favorite spots, and just cherishing their presence. We started the day with a long walk, where they got to sniff every interesting bush and post – pure bliss for a dog! Later, we had a special meal, and of course, some extra treats. Monster Morty and Nipsey absolutely love their outdoor time, whether they're sitting proudly next to their gray dog house on a sunny day, or simply lounging on the wooden deck, watching the world go by through the reflections in the window.
One of the funniest things about having two Rottweilers is their synchronized moments. They often sit attentively on our patterned rug, looking at me with those 'feed me' eyes, or peek over the wooden table with such curiosity, especially when there's food involved! I even caught them eyeing a watermelon on the table the other day while I was having a snack – they always think human food is the best food. These little moments, these everyday joys, are what make having them so special.
If you're a fellow dog parent wondering how to make your furry friend's birthday memorable, my top tip is to keep it simple and focused on what they love. Is it an extra-long game of fetch? A new squeaky toy? A special walk at a new park? Or maybe just an evening of unlimited belly rubs? For Monster Morty and Nipsey, it’s definitely a combination of all of the above, plus plenty of high-value treats.
Six years is a wonderful milestone, and I’m so grateful for every single day with my Rottie boys. They’ve taught me so much about patience, loyalty, and how to enjoy the simple things in life. Here’s to many more happy birthdays with my Monster Morty and Nipsey!
