We beat the dragon in the dlc of Dark Souls Remastered #darksouls #darksoulsremastered #fromsoftware #soulsborne #soulslike
Okay, so you know how in Dark Souls Remastered, there are bosses that just make you want to throw your controller? Well, for me and my friends, Black Dragon Kalameet in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC was definitely one of them! We'd heard stories, of course – the legendary flying DRAGON, the devastating fire breath, the relentless physical attacks... it all sounded terrifying. And trust me, it absolutely lived up to the hype. This beast is no joke. For what felt like weeks, it felt like we were just banging our heads against a wall. Kalameet isn't just any dragon; his moveset is brutally efficient and unpredictable. That homing magic attack, the lightning-fast tail whip you can barely anticipate, and that fiery charge that just melts your health bar – each move is designed to punish hesitation. We tried so many different builds, weapon enchantments, and tactics. At first, our goal was just to survive, slowly learning his patterns and tells, hoping to chip away at his health. Dodge, dodge, get one hit in, then roll away again – if you were lucky enough to create an opening. What finally started to turn the tide for us was really deep-diving into his attack animations and understanding when to commit. Everyone talks about getting the Calamity Ring, and honestly, that was a huge motivator for us. Cutting off his tail for Hawkeye Gough was a whole other layer of challenge during the fight itself! We quickly learned that patience and discipline were absolutely key. Don't get greedy with your attacks. Wait for those big, punishable openings after his ground attacks or when he's doing his sweeping flying fire breath. Stamina management also became our best friend. We made sure to equip lighter armor for faster rolls and definitely boosted our fire resistance as much as we possibly could with rings and consumables. One strategy that really clicked for us was trying to stay somewhat close to his front legs. This often baited out his claw swipes, allowing us to roll under him and get a few precious hits on his legs or, if we were feeling particularly brave, trying for that elusive tail. His head is also a vulnerable spot, especially when he brings it down after certain attacks, but it's incredibly risky and often left us exposed. We also found that using a strong ranged attack, like a Greatbow, to occasionally draw his aggro while another player chipped away at close range (or vice versa) could sometimes create valuable distractions and disrupt his movements. It really felt like a dance of death, constantly adapting. The moment we finally saw that glorious 'Prey Slain' message pop up on our screens was pure euphoria. The relief, the adrenaline, the absolute joy of knowing we had overcome such a formidable foe... it was peak Dark Souls satisfaction. And then, there it was – the Calamity Ring! What a brutal yet incredibly rewarding souvenir for such a brutal fight. Wearing it now feels like a true badge of honor, even if it doubles all incoming damage. It’s a testament to surviving one of the toughest challenges the game throws at you. For anyone still out there fighting this magnificent beast, don't give up. Learn his moves, stay patient, and trust your instincts. The satisfaction of beating Kalameet is truly one of the best feelings in the entire game, and totally worth the struggle!
