Learn Spanish with me Day 8 not mines

2025/10/26 Edited to

... Read more¡Hola a todos! Welcome back to my Spanish learning journey! Today marks Day 8, and I’m so excited to share the essential basic words that have really helped me start building my Spanish vocabulary. When I first decided to learn Spanish, it felt a bit overwhelming, but focusing on these simple words and phrases has made it much more manageable and fun. I've found that starting with everyday essentials is key. For instance, knowing how to say 'Yes' (Sí) and 'No' (No) is super fundamental. Then there are those polite phrases – 'Please' (Por favor) and 'Thank you' (Gracias) are absolute must-knows, and 'You're welcome' (De nada) completes the set. And of course, mastering 'Hello' (Hola) and 'Goodbye' (Adiós) makes every interaction a little easier. These are truly the building blocks! Next, I moved on to expressing simple feelings. It’s so useful to be able to say you’re 'Happy' (Feliz), 'Sad' (Triste), or even 'Tired' (Cansado). Sometimes I’m 'Hungry' (Hambriento) after a long study session, or even a little 'Angry' (Enojado) if I can’t grasp a new concept right away – but that’s all part of the learning process! I also started categorizing words by theme, which the images in this post really helped with. For places, I learned 'Home' (Casa), 'School' (Escuela), 'Store' (Tienda), 'Park' (Parque), and 'Hospital' (Hospital). It helps to visualize where you might use these words. Imagine telling someone you're going to the 'Parque' or asking where the 'Tienda' is! Common objects are another great category. I always have a 'Book' (Libro) and a 'Pen' (Bolígrafo) with me for notes. Knowing 'Phone' (Teléfono), 'Car' (Coche), and 'Table' (Mesa) felt incredibly practical for daily life. It’s like slowly painting a picture of my environment in Spanish. Learning about time has also been very insightful. 'Day' (Día) and 'Night' (Noche), 'Week' (Semana), 'Month' (Mes), and 'Year' (Año) are so important for planning. And being able to say 'Today' (Hoy), 'Tomorrow' (Mañana), and 'Yesterday' (Ayer) really helps you talk about events. Finally, I focused on people. It’s wonderful to be able to refer to a 'Friend' (Amigo/Amiga), 'Man' (Hombre), 'Woman' (Mujer), 'Child' (Niño/Niña), and talk about your 'Family' (Familia). These words make conversations more personal and allow you to connect with others. My biggest tip for anyone on Day 8, or even Day 1, of learning Spanish is to practice these basic words consistently. I try to say them out loud, write them down, and even label objects around my 'Casa' with their Spanish names. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; that's how we learn! Every 'sí' and 'gracias' you use is a step forward. Keep going, and we'll be speaking Spanish fluently before we know it!
