Tell them to stop playing with you

For me, it was about my time and emotional energy. Once you know your boundaries, you can enforce them. Communicate Clearly and Firmly: This is crucial. Instead of hinting or hoping they'll get it, state your boundaries directly. Use "I" statements. For example, "I feel disrespected when you cancel last minute without explanation," rather than "You always cancel." Then, state the consequence: "If this continues, I won't be able to make plans with you." Learn to Say 'No' Without Guilt: This was a game-changer for me. Saying no to something you don't want to do, or something that violates your boundaries, is a powerful act of self-respect. You don't need to over-explain or apologize. A simple, "No, I won't be able to do that," is often enough. Distance Yourself if Necessary: Sometimes, despite your best efforts, some people just won't respect your boundaries. In these cases, it's okay, and often necessary, to create distance. This doesn't mean you're a bad person; it means you're prioritizing your well-being. Seek Support & Inspiration: You're not alone in this! I found so much strength in empowering quotes and connecting with others who shared similar experiences.
