Consistency 🫶

If you feel you “overdid it” yesterday

Do NOT skip meals

Do NOT overexercise to compensate

You do NOT need a detox or cleanse (we have organs that do this for us)

Here’s what I’d recommend you do:

Get back to your regular plan

Get some meals prepped or ingredients on hand that fit your goals

Have a high protein breakfast - center your meals around protein/produce

Exercise as you normally would

Being a dick to yourself won’t help

Consistency > perfection! If you see a pop on the scale this is likely just primarily water retention, food volume, poo. Get back to your normal routine, things will regulate

*REMINDER* you should also be looking outside the scale to track your progress - take photos, measurements, how do your clothes fit, your performance, relationship with food, etc

The scale isn’t the only thing that matters and that number will always fluctuate for a whole bunch of reasons.

Don’t dwell. We are human. You can always make your next choice a better one. You do not need to say “f*ck it” - move on

Learn from “setbacks” it’s just feedback. What can you do differently next time? What works and what doesn’t?

The only time you fail is when you quit.

You are in control, the captain 🧑‍✈️ of your ship!

... Read moreIn the pursuit of fat loss and improved fitness, many individuals believe that perfection is necessary to achieve their goals. However, it's important to recognize that consistency—not perfection—is the key driver of long-term success. Experiencing setbacks such as overeating or a pause in exercise does not mean failure; instead, it's valuable feedback to recalibrate your approach. One critical insight is that skipping meals or overexercising to compensate after a day of indulgence can actually hinder progress. Our bodies have natural detoxification systems primarily involving organs like the liver and kidneys, so detoxes or cleanses are generally unnecessary and may disrupt healthy routines. To move forward constructively, get back to your regular nutrition and exercise plan without self-criticism. Meal prep with ingredients aligned to your goals and emphasize a high-protein breakfast to sustain energy and satiety. Center your meals around protein and produce to support balanced nutrition. Monitoring progress requires a broad perspective beyond the scale, as weight fluctuates due to factors like water retention and food volume. Alternative tracking methods such as photos, measurements, clothing fit, performance improvements, and your relationship with food provide a more comprehensive view of your health journey. Daily habits like incorporating vegetables even once a day, choosing home-cooked meals over eating out frequently, and opting for short walks instead of inactivity, all contribute positively to your fat loss phase. Each small action counts more than expecting drastic changes through extreme measures. Most importantly, adopt a mindset that setbacks are normal and opportunities to learn. Reflect on what strategies work best and what adjustments you can make. Remember, quitting is the only true failure, so maintain control as the captain of your own wellness journey. This balanced approach ensures sustainable results and a healthier relationship with fitness and nutrition.
