Summer tends to be jam packed with events! I can understand how it may feel difficult to stay “on track” when it comes to your weight loss goals.

Here’s the deal - we generally have a pretty good idea of when special occasions may be coming up. We can plan for them. Let’s say we have a weekend with more than 1 event. It’s important to consider which of these events might be worth getting a little loosey goosey & which one’s may be kind of MEH… if an event is more of a meh & you’re not that bothered, maybe we stay more dialed in during this event.

These events are just a small period of time if we step back & think about it. Surrounding these events we can still stick to our good habits, anchors, big rocks (whatever you want to call them). Yes, it may be difficult if we are thrown out of our routine BUT if we can move away from the idea of being OFF or ON (which I know is not necessarily EASY), understanding that there’s no such thing as being perfect… it’s about CONSISTENCY.. this process will feel a whole heck of a lot better.

Another point I need to make here is we always have a choice. We need to take ownership of our choices. It’s also important to keep in mind what you want vs what you want right now? How will X, Y or Z choice make you feel AFTER? Take a moment to PAUSE & REFLECT… if you aren’t happy with how a certain situation played out, how can you do it differently next time? Beating yourself up & speaking to yourself like a d*ckhead won’t get you anywhere… whatever choice you make, own that choice & remember, you’re never doomed. You can turn your day around at the drop of a hat & the BIG PICTURE always matters most.

Stay consistent… the best thing you can do if you feel like you went “off track” is to just get right back into your normal routine xx

... Read moreSummer can indeed pose unique challenges for weight loss efforts, especially with packed social calendars and multiple events. However, understanding the nature of these occasions and planning ahead can significantly help you stay on track. One effective strategy is to prioritize events based on their significance to you. If certain gatherings are more casual or less meaningful, maintaining discipline at those times can balance out the occasional indulgence at more important celebrations. Consistency over perfection is key. Rather than framing diet and lifestyle choices as 'on' or 'off,' adopting a mindset of long-term balance allows for flexibility without guilt. Embracing this approach reduces stress and promotes sustainable habits that support weight loss. Taking ownership of your choices empowers you to reflect on each decision and its impact on your goals. Asking yourself what you want in the short term versus the long term encourages mindful eating and prevents impulsive behaviors. If a choice doesn't align with your objectives, use it as a learning opportunity instead of self-criticism. Additionally, returning promptly to your regular routine after any deviation is crucial. Resuming healthy eating and consistent activity reinforces progress and prevents small setbacks from derailing your overall efforts. Incorporating these strategies during summer can help overcome the difficulties of weight loss amid event-filled schedules. Remember, staying consistent, planning thoughtfully, and reflecting on your choices are powerful tools for achieving and maintaining your health goals all year round.
