Motivation will come and go 🫶

There really isn’t a perfect time.

Life will always throw us curve balls.

Stop waiting.

Do SOMETHING.

Even if you just focus on ☝️ thing to start - that’s a step in the right direction!

Learn from the tougher times. Even if you find that you’ve started at a “perfect time” we all know that there will always be bumps in the road.

When those tougher times are upon us focus on your BIG ROCKS 🪨 aka your ANCHORS ⚓️:

🚶‍♀️Move your body in some way

🥦Eat produce (fruits/veggies)

🍗Eat protein

😴Try and get adequate sleep 7-9 hours

🧘‍♀️Find time to relax/unwind

💦Stay hydrated

You may not be able to execute your “plan” perfectly and that’s okay.

These are the times we do the best we can vs saying “f*ck it” 🤬

Know that when you have a plan - you can count on that plan not always being perfectly executed HOWEVER it’s better than having no plan at all.

Control what you can control and let go of what you can’t. ✌️

Turn the intensity up or down as needed vs the all or nothing ON or OFF mentality.

We need to actively work against that way of thinking.

You CAN do it.

You can do a hell of a lot more than you give yourself credit for.

OH and guess what?

You can ALWAYS make your next choice, a better one and turn that freakin day around

I’ve definitely experienced those days, or even weeks, where the drive just isn't there, especially when I'm trying to stick to my wellness goals. It’s easy to feel defeated when you’re not 'feeling it,' but I've found that having a solid plan for those low-energy moments is key to staying consistent. When my motivation dips, I always come back to those 'big rocks' – the non-negotiables that keep me aligned with my *future goals*. For example, moving my body doesn't always mean a high-intensity workout. On days I lack motivation, I commit to just 15 minutes of movement, whether it’s a quick walk outside, some gentle stretching, or even dancing to my favorite song in the living room. That small act helps me push through the inertia and often builds enough forward momentum to do a little more, or at least feel better about myself for taking that first step. Eating well can also feel overwhelming when you're unmotivated. Instead of aiming for perfect meals, I focus on eating produce and protein in simple ways. This means always having berries for a quick snack, pre-chopped veggies ready for stir-fries, or a hard-boiled egg easily accessible. It's all about planning ahead for those moments when cooking feels like too much effort. I’ve learned that having healthy options readily available is a game-changer. And sleep? That’s my secret weapon. When I'm feeling drained and unmotivated, I prioritize getting my 7-9 hours. It's amazing how much a good night's rest can reset my mind and make those daily challenges feel a little less daunting. I also make sure to *find time to relax/unwind*. This could be reading a book, listening to a podcast, or just sitting quietly with a cup of tea. These moments are crucial for recharging my mental batteries and preventing burnout. Staying hydrated is another simple yet powerful habit. I keep a water bottle with me throughout the day, refilling it constantly. Sometimes, what feels like a slump is just dehydration! Above all, I've learned the importance of taking health seriously – not just physical health, but mental health too. There have been times when my lack of motivation was a sign of something deeper. Recognizing when to pause, reflect, and perhaps even seek support, whether from friends or a professional, is vital. It’s about being kind to myself and understanding that my well-being is a marathon, not a sprint. By focusing on these core habits, even imperfectly, I can keep moving forward and not let fleeting motivation derail my progress. It’s truly about making the 'hard now' choices to prevent the 'really hard later' scenarios.
