CATL opens EV battery repair center instead of replacement 10 times cheaper
On August 10, on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of Ning Service, CATL's independent after-sales service brand launched a Cell-to-Pack (CTP) battery repair service aimed at reducing the cost burden of owners of new energy vehicles (NEVs) that have exhausted the insurance phase. The new service is seen as "unlocking" the major problems of the EV market, which in the past was often caught in a whirlpool. "Waste also changed the whole pack" because CTP technology, while enhancing energy density and efficiency, is difficult to repair and costly.

According to the China Insurance Association, 59 models of BEVs have battery parts compared to the average price of 50.96%. This means that if the car costs 200,000 yuan (about 900,000 baht), the total battery replacement will exceed 100,000 yuan, or about 4.5 hundred thousand baht immediately, causing many car owners to bear a heavy burden when they run out of insurance.

Ning Service's repair service is therefore clearly seen as a more cost-effective solution, costing only 10,000-20,000 yuan (about 45,000-90,000 baht), down to a fraction of the total replacement price. While currently limited to CATL batteries, it is a milestone that may change the EV industry's aftermarket service approach in the future.

Ning Service started as CATL's after-sales service division in 2015 before upgrading to an independent brand in 2024, and now has over 1,100 service centers in 75 countries (over 800 of which are in China), providing services ranging from battery inspection and maintenance, battery monitoring in used cars, old bishbat refers, to recycling and reusing batteries in other tasks, to create a comprehensive economic cycle of batteries.

CATL also plans to extend Ning Service's services to include vehicle monitoring, charging and switching services, to expanding into new businesses like unmanned aerial vehicles, clean energy navigation, and zero carbon infrastructure, which, if achieved, will not only reduce battery repair costs, but also create sustainable renewable business models for the future of the global EV industry. 🤩🤩
