Are You Lonely in Your 20’s?
Is anyone else lonely in their 20’s? With social media it can feel like everyone has an amazing support system and social circles, and there is a lot of pressure put on this decade to be the most fun, amazing, decade of life ever. And while my 20’s are amazing in some ways, they’re really hard in other ways.
I have an amazing husband, family, and some really good friends, but I do feel lonely often. I work from home and I have been on such a change trajectory in the past several years that I’ve had to change my circle over and over. I have moved to different states and countries causing a physical divide and I have changed myself a lot causing a relatability divide in some relationships.
I’m not sharing this for pity, but to open up discussion and destigmatize this! I know if I’m struggling with feeling lonely that some of you guys are, too. I want you to know that it’s ok to not have your life and circle figured out! You need to remove the pressure off of yourself and focus on becoming your best, most authentic self. The right community will come.
Let’s be more open and honest about these struggles so we can grow together!

Loneliness in your 20s can be intensified by factors such as working from home and shifting social circles. The pressure of comparing your life to portrayals in media can leave you feeling isolated. It's essential to challenge these narratives and embrace the unique growth opportunities this decade provides. Finding community might take time, but focusing on personal growth and authenticity will naturally attract people who resonate with your journey. Engaging in social activities, seeking out peer support, or even trying co-working spaces can help bridge the gaps in relationships. Remember, many others share similar struggles—open discussions about loneliness and vulnerability can foster connections. Ultimately, embracing individual change and allowing yourself to navigate through various phases without judgment creates a foundation for genuine friendships. The key is to recognize that loneliness isn’t a reflection of your worth or social abilities; it's a part of the evolving journey in your 20s. Focus on discovering who you truly are, and the right people will come into your life.
