Gut health morning oral hygiene routine 🦷

A very important part of maintaining a healthy gut is maintaining good oral hygiene 🪥.

Did you know that the health of your mouth can impact your gut?

Yes!

Our mouths are the gatekeepers to our guts meaning... that our gut microbiome and oral health are connected! keeping a healthy mouth is so important for gut health.

Here is a gut healthy morning oral hygiene routine 👇🏼

🥥 Coconut oil pulling: Oil pulling can help to remove bad bacteria that causes bad breath, it can help reduce inflammation, help prevent cavities, it can even help whiten teeth and help with detoxification of the body too. Swish 1 tablespoon around in mouth for 7-15 minutes, spit into trash can. Do 3x per week!

👅 Tongue Scraping: tongue scraping removes about 80% more bacteria than a regular toothbrush! This is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that clears toxins and dead cells from the tongue. it even promotes positive digestive health & activates saliva production which is needed for strong digestion. Do daily in the morning after waking up as the body heavily detoxes overnight. Do before brushing teeth!

🪥 Mineral based toothpaste & mouthwash: using a quality toothpaste brand & mouth wash is important! one of my favorite is the Risewell brand. Brush teeth and mouthwash after. I also floss as well to remove plaque in between teeth. Save this post so you can reference for the future! & cheers to a healthy mouth + a healthy gut babes 🫶🏻
