3 key habits for less bloat & better digestion ⬇️
I used to struggle with constipation which was so incredibly uncomfortable and it contributed to my constant bloating. It is SO important to have at least ONE bowel movement per day. Many people are walking around in a chronic state of constipation and they do not even know it.
We must have 1 bowel movement per day to eliminate toxins. If we are not, those toxins are not getting out of the body. This can contribute many other health issues.
These 3 tips made a HUGE difference for myself when I was struggling with constipation.
What you need to understand is that digestion is a parasympathetic process. So if you are constantly stressed or your body is in a constant state of stress (the sympathetic state… opposite of the parasympathetic state), it will be really hard for you to have a bowel movement daily.
3 tips to help you go to the bathroom & prevent bloat -
- Drink adequate water with sea salt and minerals immediately upon waking! This provides the body with necessary hydration allowing for a healthy bowel movement. Aloe vera juice is a great option to add to your morning routine as well… it has minerals and helps digestion + gut health.
- If you graze all day long on snacks… this is actually harming your digestion and gut. Our guts need BREAKS in-between meals to allow for the MMC (migrating motor complex) to do its job. For healthy digestion and gut health, it is better to eat every 3-5 hours and have balanced, satiating meals than to constantly be snacking all day long. That way the MMC can do its job!!! Often times, SIBO is a result of the MMC not doing its job correctly.
- Stop rushing in the morning! Most people who struggle with constipation, if they don’t go to the bathroom in the morning hours, it is really hard for their bodies to have a bowel movement. Slow down in the morning if possible… get to bed earlier so you can have an earlier, slower morning.
Once these habits are established consistently… if you are still having issues with constipation and bloating… the next best thing would be to take a deeper look into your digestive health to see what digestive or gut insufficiency may be taking place.

To maintain digestive health and prevent issues like constipation and bloating, it is crucial to establish daily habits. First, focus on hydration: drinking water enriched with sea salt and essential minerals first thing in the morning not only hydrates your body but also supports healthy bowel movements. Adding aloe vera juice to your morning hydration can further enhance gut health due to its soothing properties. Next, be mindful of your eating patterns. Grazing throughout the day can disrupt your digestive process; instead, aim for balanced meals every 3-5 hours. This allows your body's Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) to function effectively, clearing out food particles and avoiding conditions like Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). Finally, start your day with intention. Rushing in the morning can trigger stress responses that hinder digestion. By creating a more relaxed morning routine, including adequate time for your body to wake up and prepare for the day, you can significantly improve your chances of a healthy bowel movement. Taking a deeper look into your overall digestive health can also be beneficial if challenges persist.

I’ve always been told to eat every 2-3 hours to keep metabolism going. How do I make the switch to 3-5 hours, should I make my meals bigger ? I’ve been doing this for over 12 years. My body is use to me eating like that but now I’m struggling to lose weight and sleep issues.
