podcasts for smart kids
i love a podcast. luckily my kids have been drawn to a few favorite shows too! 🎧🫰🏾😻
we often listen in the car or while doing art projects or even just playing slow at home or on a walk
🦁📖CIRCLE ROUND: this is a story podcast with B&C list celebrity guests. adapts carefully-selected folktales from around the world into sound- and music-rich radio. 15 to 25-minute episode explores important issues like kindness, persistence and generosity. each episode ends with an activity that inspires a deeper conversation between children and grown-ups
🔬🧬👩🏽🔬SLEEP TIGHT SCIENCE: marketed as a bedtime show but we listen anytime of day. like story bots meets a podcast, they answers the questions kids have about science. aliens, weather patterns, worms and dreams! they’ve got it
📣👧🏽👦🏽SMASH BOOM BEST: a kids speech and debate style show with topics like squirrels vs crows, bubblegum vs gummy bears, spider-man vs batman. we usually pick a side and listen while flip flopping on our own decisions. it’s a great excuse to chat and be silly while learning new things about passions we might already enjoy! (narwhal vs jellyfish, sneezing vs farting, pikachu vs mario…. i promise there’s something your kids into!)
📰🚨👨🏿💻📡WOW IN THE WORLD: stories about the latest news in science, technology, and innovation. stories that give kids hope, agency and make us all say "WOW"! our favorite episodes this year were about zombie ant and mummified bees… my oldest is real into the dead and creepy right now, we love to know the facts about our hyper fixation and this has been a great resource for the newly informed
do you listen to podcasts with your kids or by yourself? do you have a current favorite!?
i’m always lookin for more for myself and them!🙋🏽♀️🗣️
