low waste+personal touch

this was for my younger brother.

he’s a brilliant man who’s currently working as a fabrics engineer while studying for his patent lawyers exam.

he has everything he needs/wants and gifting has become more of an art

i knew i wanted to embroider a sweater for him so i set out to find one that was 100% cotton.

i had originally planned to do some silly shit. make it a loud spring sweater with flowers and a bunny… but the sweater wanted to be more simple with personal touches.

i love how it turned out.

during his last visit, he mentioned wanting to work more with clay. so this book felt like a no brainer. smelt incredible and still had its school library tag. i can’t think of anything nicer!!

do you enjoy gifting?! what was the last gift you personalized?

Personalization in gifts not only shows thoughtfulness but also enhances the overall experience for the recipient. One way to achieve this is through embroidery; a unique craft that allows you to add personal touches to clothing items like sweaters. Choosing a sustainable fabric, such as 100% cotton, is crucial. Cotton is biodegradable and less harmful to the environment compared to synthetic options. In many instances, thrifted items can reveal hidden potential for a new life, and you can easily transform them into personalized gifts. For instance, thrifted sweaters can be adorned with delicate embroidery that includes initials or specific patterns that reflect the recipient's personality or interests. This method not only reduces waste but also supports a more sustainable way of living. Additionally, pairing your embroidered gift with meaningful books or crafting materials can enhance the experience. Items like clay or other creative tools are great companions, encouraging the recipient to explore their creativity. By doing so, you nurture their passions while minimizing environmental impact. Overall, gifting becomes an art form that can reflect your values and care for the planet. The best gifts often come with a personal touch, making them more special and memorable.
