our babies need to know their area for reasons of safety & security.

for the mental health benefits of being outside & the repetition that comes with learning the route home….

today we played ‘all senses’ on our walk & chatted about all things that came to mind🧘🏽‍♀️

💤baby fell asleep in the stroller, so my elementary babes & i got some solo conversation time

it’s such a treat getting to know her. hearing what parts of her life have stood out the most & where her passions lie.

it’s the luckiest to grow slow 🐌♥️

Understanding local routes enhances a child's confidence, helping them navigate their community with ease. As we took our enjoyable walks, we focused on 'all senses', noticing sights, sounds, and experiences in our environment which enriches learning. Children benefit greatly from outdoor play, not only for physical development but also for mental well-being. Engaging in conversations during walks allows for bonding moments, where children express their feelings and thoughts about their interests. This time can help in fostering a nurturing environment that encourages children to grow emotionally and socially. Walking offers numerous benefits; it improves mood and decreases stress for both parents and children. Families can also discover hidden gems in their neighborhoods, like local parks or unique stores, turning routine walks into mini-adventures. Incorporating mindfulness during these strolls can further amplify the benefits, as being present and aware helps everyone appreciate the journey rather than just the destination.
