family affirming ✨
“we” is more than this room.
🦋we are all in this together.
as part of date night this year, my husband & i are designing a family coat of arms/family crest. ⚜️🧑🧑🧒🧒🔖
it’s been such fun!
we remain in the planning stages but once we have the image in place, i’ll do a detail embroidery to frame🖼️ 🪡 it’s simple & creative & therapeutic & such fun.
we have had some amazing conversations surrounding what we find important & the simplest ways we just want our children to feel part of a supportive unit. (🫀➕🧠) i love him. & i like him.
so this is my pitch. make a family crest & add some “we” affirmations to it!
return & report!
(reminder: family is what you make it. don’t hesitate to make a crest or affirmations alone or w/ someone you barely know!✌🏾ilysm)
do you have a family crest or a suggestion for our next date night craft?!? do you think making family affirmations is something you would try?

Creating a family crest is not just an art project; it’s a meaningful way to express family identity and values. Family crests represent family history and traditions, making them a rich topic for discussion. Involving everyone in the design process ensures that each family member's input is valued. In the process, consider incorporating affirmations that resonate with your family. Examples include phrases such as 'We are happy,' 'We are together,' and 'We support each other.' These affirmations can serve as a daily reminder of your family's commitment to each other's well-being. Discussing what happiness means to each member encourages open dialogue and a deeper understanding of one another. When crafting your crests and affirmations, be creative! Use colors and symbols that reflect your family's heritage or values. Perhaps your crest can include elements that symbolize freedom and support, fostering a space where everyone feels secure to express their emotions and thoughts. This project also encourages reflection on what it means to be part of a supportive unit. Each member can ponder questions like, 'Do I feel part of a supportive team?' or 'How can we cultivate happiness together?' This reflection enhances family unity and connection. In addition, family crafts like this can be therapeutic, providing an avenue for emotional exploration and growth. Whether you create your crest with family or embark on this project alone, the process can be profoundly rewarding. So gather your materials and dive into this creative adventure that not only beautifies your home but also strengthens your family ties.
