The Haunting on West 10th Street:

this story takes place in the present day & in 1952. which to me, is always fun to realize connection as the story goes.

maria & her partner frankie are given a cold case of a crime they had investigated three years before after it’s been linked to a similar crime that happened in 1952. maria soon realizes they aren’t dealing with anything they’ve dealt with before.

this is my first book by this author, im currently about 70% through & know i’ll be reading the next & looking for more by the same author.

💪🏽💐

The Courage It Takes To Bloom:

easily one of the best memoirs i have ever read, & incredibly timely.

it is always a pleasure to read an autobiography by someone who is an actual journalist & professional writer because the ability to distill a narrative while also portraying their authentic voice is unparalleled.

while there’s a great & amount of focus on raquels transition, it’s her life told through an honest reflection.

highly recommend to learn more about activism & allyship in our current time

👽🛸

An Absolutely Remarkable Thing:

april, the main character, suddenly becomes internationally-famous when a video she made with a friend goes viral

i picked up the book because i have enjoyed john green's books in the past

even though the premise was interesting i continued to be bothered by the main character… & maybe this was the purpose to help continue the plot but i just wanted her to be less goofy

overall, it was ok

Magnolia Wu Unfolds It All:

a wholesome story about two young girls becoming friends & together, discovering their community.

we’ve loved this story & plan to buy the book to enjoy the art & reread

💍👵🏽

Trouble At The Tangerine:

a story about a family who travels around the country & post their adventures onto social media. only child, simon is done traveling & wants to make a home where they’ve landed. however, after a robbery in their new building, his parents want to move again.

so new friends work together to locate the stolen jewelry

cute & easy to follow with a fun mystery to guess at. my girl & i love it
